What's inside the kit
One zip, four working parts — plain files you host yourself, keep forever, and can open in any text editor. No build tools, no account, nothing to rent.
Prayer-times screen for any TV
Five prayers + sunrise, optional Iqamah times, Jumu'ah, a live countdown, the Hijri date and announcements (slides + marquee). Custom times mode is the default — the screen shows exactly what your committee approves. Or connect the free Aladhan API and pick from the 22 official calculation methods. Displays in English, Arabic (RTL), French, Indonesian, Malay or Turkish.
Funds that go straight to your account
A ready donation page with goal bar, preset amounts and monthly sadaqah. You create payment links in your mosque's own Stripe account and paste them in — money and donor data stay with the mosque, always. UK Gift Aid and French tax-receipt pointers included.
Class register without the spreadsheet
Student roster, daily attendance (present / absent / late), teacher timetable and polite WhatsApp follow-ups to parents — pre-filled for you, you press send. All data stays on your device; export CSV backups any time.
30-minute setup, checklists, templates
Click-by-click kiosk setup for Raspberry Pi, Android/Fire TV, Mac or PC. A prayer-times checklist to run past your committee, announcement templates (incl. Ramadan), and the Arabic review gate to complete before anything religious goes on screen.

Real files from the zip, rendered as-is — no mockups.
Who's behind this?
Zicula is a one-person studio — hi, I'm Zic. Every kit here, including this one, is written, tested and shipped through documented process, and the support email is answered by me, not a helpdesk. This store's own build, QA and deploy pipeline runs on the same kind of SOPs and checklists we sell.
- Free sample, instant download — no email required.
- 30-day refund, processed in Stripe — no forms, no interrogation.
- Free updates for v1.x — full history in the store changelog.
- Real human support: [email protected]
How it works
No dashboards to rent, no media box to buy if you already have a TV.
Open the display on the TV
Host the four files free on GitHub Pages, or run them fully offline. Point a kiosk browser at the URL. The 30-minute checklist in the pack covers Raspberry Pi, Android/Fire TV, Mac and PC step by step.
Enter your times
Custom times mode is the default: your committee's times, shown exactly. Or switch on the free Aladhan API and pick your official method from the 22 documented ones — after your committee confirms it, as it should be.
Paste your own Stripe links
Create Payment Links in your mosque's own Stripe account and paste them into the donation page — donors pay you directly, with receipts from Stripe. The walkthrough takes about 30 minutes.
One payment vs a monthly bill
Same mosque budget, different ownership model.

Subscription prices from masjidbox.com/pricing, checked 20 September 2026 (Screens €29/mo · Pages €15/mo · Global pack €62/mo) — prices change, re-check before you decide. MasjidNow, an early mosque-web service, shut down and its domain now serves spam (visible in the Wayback Machine) — that specific failure mode is what owning your files removes.
Honest footnote: free options exist and some are excellent — Mawaqit became a non-profit and is free for mosques (10,000+ installations in 160+ countries, archived August 2026). If a free hosted platform fits your mosque, use it with our blessing. This kit is for the mosque that wants the opposite trade: pay once, own the files, keep the donations and the data in-house.
What this kit does not promise
- Arabic needs a native reviewer. The display supports Arabic (RTL) but its Arabic strings have not been checked by a native reader — the pack includes a review checklist and a sign-off box to complete before Arabic goes on a public screen. This landing ships no Arabic for the same reason.
- Your committee owns the prayer times. The screen repeats what your committee approves — custom mode is the default, and in API mode you confirm the calculation method locally. No software should decide prayer times for a community.
- Nobody holds your donations. The donation template requires your mosque's own Stripe account. The kit's authors never see, hold or touch donor money — that is the whole point.
- Self-hosted means you run it. There is no vendor dashboard or hosted service behind this kit: files, manuals and email support. If you'd rather rent, a subscription platform is probably the better fit.

Questions mosque committees actually ask
Do we have to pay every year?
No. $49 once. Your files keep working forever and v1.x updates are free through your download link. If we ever build a v2 with new modules, it would be a separate optional purchase — never a switch that turns your screen off.
What hardware do we need?
A TV or monitor with HDMI, plus something small to drive it: a Raspberry Pi (about $40), an Android/Fire TV stick you may already own, or an old laptop. The pack has click-by-click kiosk setup for each option.
Are the prayer times reliable?
The kit doesn't guess. The default mode shows exactly the times your committee enters. The optional API mode uses the free Aladhan API by Islamic Network, with the 22 official calculation methods documented at aladhan.com/calculation-methods — and the pack includes a checklist to confirm the method with your committee first.
Is the Arabic translation verified?
No — deliberately. The display supports Arabic (RTL) but the Arabic strings are not native-reviewed. The kit includes a review checklist and a sign-off box your mosque completes with a native Arabic reader before showing Arabic publicly. Until then, use one of the other five display languages.
Who processes the donations?
Your mosque does. You create Payment Links in your mosque's own Stripe account and paste them into the template; Stripe pays out to the mosque's bank account and emails receipts. The kit's authors never hold donations — and zakat and sadaqah remain the mosque's direct religious responsibility.
What if we get stuck?
Email support is included — just reply to your purchase receipt. The setup manual covers the common paths (GitHub Pages hosting, Raspberry Pi / Android TV / PC kiosk). And if the kit truly doesn't fit, you have 30 days for a full refund.
Set the screen up before Ramadan 2027
Ramadan (expected around February–March 2027 — confirm with local moon sighting) is when mosques put displays and donation pages live. Get it running in the quiet weeks before, not the busy nights of.
